About Kim Ruehl

Kim Ruehl is a writer, community manager, and folk music advocate based in Asheville, NC. Her reviews and feature articles have appeared in Billboard, CityArts, Seattle and Yes! magazines, online at NPR, FolkAlley, and elsewhere. She’s been the main writer for the About.com Guide to Folk Music since 2005 and chief blogger/community manager for NoDepression since 2009.

She’s also writing a book about Zilphia Horton – the rural Tennessee music teacher who was a friend to Eleanor Roosevelt and an influence on Pete Seeger, Rosa Parks, and countless others. Learn more about that project here.
